Minneapolis and Saint Paul are filled with glass enclosed skyways to provide shelter from the brutal winter. During a lunch break walk when the elements were just right, I noticed my first pigeon print — the result of a pigeon smashing into glass and leaving its oily impression behind. It was a little upsetting at first, then gross, but then I started noticing them more and more often. There is a certain stillness and quiet to them in pleasant contrast to the bustling lunch hour rush. I’ve photographed dozens of these moments over the past several years.
